2026 Open Submission: Call for Artists

The Courthouse Gallery & Studios (CHG&S) is excited to announce our open call for the 2026 Cultural Programme. We are seeking submissions from artists eager to contribute to a dynamic and thought-provoking series of exhibitions. This is an opportunity to explore ideas and narratives that resonate with our evolving world, offering fresh perspectives on where we are and where we might be heading by the midpoint of the century. 

We welcome diverse themes and creative expressions across a wide range of mediums. Whether you are an emerging talent or an established practitioner, we encourage you to share your vision and be part of a unique programme that challenges, inspires, and engages audiences in 2026.

Key Information

  • Submission Deadline: 14th January 2025
  • Mediums Accepted: Works in any format, including installations, performances, digital art, site-specific or off-site projects, and beyond.
  • Application Types: Solo and joint submissions are welcome.

How to Apply

Express your interest by completing our short online application. It takes approximately 20 minutes and requires the following:

  • Full Name as it appears on our passport. (This is the same name you should use throughout your application and for naming documents and image files)
  • Up to three relevant images
  • Artist CV
  • Artist Bio or Statement
  • A brief description of your idea or proposal for new work. In a 'Supporting Document' - In no more than 200 words please upload a text document in PDF format giving a brief description of your idea or concept for new work.  This can include an outline of your budget for the production of new work if you can estimate this. If there are any costs relating to access requirements as an artist these can be included as separate items within the budget. 
  • Optional: Website, Instagram, or social media handles

File Formats

If uploading the following, written documents should contain text only on plain background and be in PDF format only. Files should be named appropriately i.e. YOUR-FULL-NAME_DOCUMENT-NAME.pdf

  • Artist CV/Resume 
  • Artist Bio or statement (text only)
  • Supporting Document - Project Idea and Budget (if applicable) text only

Images 

JEPG format only. Files named appropriately YOUR-FULL-NAME_IMAGE-TITLE.jpg

Please make sure you have all this information before applying as failure to do so may result in us being unable to process your application. We’re excited to see what 2026 will bring to the studios! Please adhere to the recommended file naming conventions for each file.
