Katja Wittmer is a German-born, Clare-based mixed media artist creating abstract expressionist works that explore human complexity through texture, bold colour, and layered surfaces. Using materials like sand, plaster, and wax, her paintings reveal hidden depths beneath their surfaces. A graduate of Auburn University, she has exhibited internationally and recently shown work at the Courthouse Gallery, Scariff Library Gallery, and Clare County Museum.
