Janet Mercer is a Northwest Connemara-based artist whose work is inspired by the sculptural landscapes of the west of Ireland. Born in Co. Tyrone, she studied Fine Art in Belfast and Loughborough and art history in Winchester. Her drawings and mixed media works explore themes of permanence, transience, and human history through layers of mark-making that reflect both the landscape’s physical structures and its emotional resonance.
