"Central Market Budapest" Donna Romano
Acrylic on canvas, 12 x 16cm
Donna Romano is a Dublin-based artist and librarian whose work interrogates systems of classification and hierarchies in nature. Inspired by 18th-century taxonomy and scientific illustration, she uses drawing and painting to explore humanity’s distancing and control of other species. Working primarily in pencil, charcoal, and aquarelle, Romano’s recent exhibitions include Rua Red and NCAD’s Micro Gallery, and she maintains a studio at The Complex in Dublin.
