Will O’Kane is an accomplished figurative painter from County Mayo who lives and works in Ennis, Co. Clare. Known for his nuanced oil portraits, O’Kane’s work balances intentional imagery with moments of unconscious, painterly process. A graduate of GMIT’s painting program, he has exhibited throughout Ireland – including shows at Ballina Arts Centre, Ormston House Limerick, the RHA in Dublin, and The Linenhall in Castlebar. O’Kane’s portraits strive for both likeness and emotional presence, a quality recognized by institutions like the National Gallery of Ireland, which showcased one of his portraits in a recent contemporary art exhibition.
