"Old Friends, New Horizons" Mary Roberts
Oil, 30cm x 40cm
Mary Roberts is a visual artist from County Clare who grew up amid the sea and limestone hills of Ballyvaughan in the Burren. Now based in the west of Ireland, she works in oils (and occasionally alcohol ink) to create landscape paintings and seascapes inspired by her surroundings. Roberts’s art captures the ebb and flow of the Atlantic Ocean, the rugged Burren rock formations, and the quiet beauty of Irish flora, reflecting a deep connection to place. In addition to her studio work, she is an art instructor (leading the “Art for Fun” classes in Galway) and a community arts facilitator, sharing her love of painting with others. Roberts exhibits through local galleries (such as the Russell Gallery and Kilbaha Gallery) and aims to evoke in viewers the same sense of peace and wonder that the Clare landscape gives her.
