"Outer Limits" Michelene Huggard

Michelene Huggard is an Irish visual artist with a multidisciplinary background in fine art and design. She studied painting at NCAD in Dublin and also trained in Architectural Technology at TU Dublin. Huggard’s work often merges these influences: her oil paintings are visually striking and detail-rich, and she is equally known for designing intricate jewelry pieces in precious metals (a skill that has led to some of her jewelry being auctioned as art). Conceptually, her paintings have addressed current social issues – for example, a series of works depicting Syrian refugees wrapped in silver emergency blankets, questioning themes of shelter and displacement. Based in Dublin and the west of Ireland, Huggard has exhibited at venues like MART Gallery and Signal Arts Centre, engaging audiences with art that balances aesthetic precision and humanitarian concern.
