"Walking" Stella Gilmartin
Oil and Cold Wax on Arches Paper, 80x60cms
Stella Gilmartin is an abstract landscape artist who splits her time between Strangford, Co. Down and Portsalon, Co. Donegal. Working primarily in oils (often with cold wax medium), Gilmartin draws inspiration from the ever-changing coastal environments of Strangford Lough and the Fanad Peninsula. Her atmospheric paintings capture shifting tides, skies, and seasons, reflecting the sensory experience of immersing oneself in the sea and landscape. A member of the Bó Studios artists’ collective in Strangford, she regularly opens her studio to the public and exhibits in group shows across Northern Ireland and the Republic, offering viewers a meditative journey “beneath the waves” through her art.
